Adho Mukha Vrksasana - Full Inversion

In Yoga: It is a completely "weightless" (unburdened by gravity) version of the Sirsasana (Headstand) or Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand) poses. It is the fully supported form of the "Rope Sirsasana" (Rope Headstand) practice frequently used in Iyengar yoga. It is also a wall adaptation of the inverted suspension (Bat Pose) positions found in Aerial Yoga. In Pilates: It exactly resembles the advanced "Full Inversion" or "Hanging" series performed on the Cadillac (Trapeze Table) using suspension apparatus ("fuzzies").

Works  This posture focuses on passive elongation and deep rest rather than active force production. However, to keep the body in a straight line (like a rope), some muscles continue to work isometrically (statically): · Core Muscles · Leg Muscles (Quadriceps and Glutes) · Forearm and Grip Muscles

Feet in Straps - Urdhva Prasarita Padasana

In Pilates: This movement belongs directly to the Pilates repertoire. It is a wall-adapted version of the well-known "Feet in Straps" series (specifically Leg Lowers/Lifts or Leg Circles) performed on the Reformer. Furthermore, it shares the exact same mechanics as the "Leg Springs" exercise series performed on the Pilates Cadillac or Springboard. In Yoga: It is similar to Urdhva Prasarita Padasana (Supine Double Leg Lifts/Lowers), which is performed lying flat on the back on a mat, raising and lowering the legs completely straight. However, while gravity is the only source of resistance in yoga, this version involves dynamic resistance created by the springs.

Standing Chest Press - Virabhadrasana III

In Pilates: It exactly resembles the "Standing Chest Press" movement performed facing away from the wall on the Cadillac (Trapeze Table) or Springboard. However, resting the back leg against the wall and hinging the torso forward on a single leg (hip hinge) makes this movement just as complicated as the asymmetrical "Standing Lunge" on the Reformer or Wunda Chair balance series. In Yoga: In terms of the lower body's position, the forward alignment of the torso, and the element of balancing on one leg, it is very similar to the Virabhadrasana III (Warrior III) pose. While in yoga the arms are extended forward without support, here there is the action of pushing against the resistance of the springs. The bent back knee also resembles the foundation of Natarajasana (Dancer Pose) preparatory poses.

In Yoga: It is a supported version of the Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana (Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose). Normally, this asana is held in balance unsupported by grabbing the big toe in the air; however, here, with the support of a bar, it is adapted to focus on deep flexibility rather than the element of balance. In Pilates / Barre: It exactly resembles the "Side" variation of the classic "Ballet Stretches" series performed on Pilates equipment (especially the Ladder Barrel, Cadillac, or Reformer tower). It is also one of the most fundamental stretching forms in Barre workouts.

In Yoga: It can be considered a dynamic, weighted, and resistant version of the Supta Padangusthasana (Reclining Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose), where the legs are separated while lying flat on the back. While in yoga the stretch support is provided by the hand, here the springs provide it as push/pull resistance.

In General Fitness: Due to the elevation of the back leg, it incorporates the lower body dynamics of the famous "Bulgarian Split Squat," while combining it with an isometric "Straight-Arm Pulldown" or "Row" movement as the arms hold the bar.

Ardha Hanumanasana - Front Splits

Ardha Hanumanasana - Front Splits

In Yoga: Fundamentally, it is a combination of the Ardha Hanumanasana (Half Monkey Pose / Half Split) and the King Arthur Pose (Couch Stretch) performed against a wall to open the front of the hips. This hybrid pose, typically supported by blocks in yoga, is transformed here into a much more "suspended" and spine-elongating form using wall straps. In Pilates: It is mechanically exactly identical to the famous "Front Splits" series performed on the Reformer. While the back knee rests on the carriage on the Reformer, here it rests against the wall. Furthermore, it is an upright and more stable version of the suspended leg stretches performed by holding the springs on the Cadillac.

Works  This exercise creates two different and very intense stretches (fascial elongation) in the lower body simultaneously, while requiring balance and stabilization in the upper body: · Maximum Stretching Muscles (Back Leg) · Maximum Stretching Muscles (Front Leg) · Active Stabilizers (Core and Back)
